Erik Ritland here, licensed insurance agent based just south of Nashville (Columbia, if you want to get technical). I've done a little of everything — creative writing, marketing, songwriting — but my wife is the reason I landed in insurance. She's a nurse, and watching her work as a case manager made me ask myself, "self, what could I do that makes that kind of difference?" Life insurance was the answer: you get to know people and help them with some of the most important decisions they'll ever make. It's every bit as rewarding as I'd hoped. When I'm not hanging out with my wife Erika (fun, I know) and our son Dominic (almost 9 months!), you'll find me reading classic literature, writing songs, or listening to anything from classic rock and Americana to jazz and classical.
